1. 基本概念¶
情态动词表推测是高考语法考查的高频考点,几乎每年必考。情态动词可以表达说话人对某一情况的可能性判断,按推测的肯定程度从强到弱排列为:
must > will > would > ought to > should > can > could > may > might
2. 各情态动词用法详解¶
(1)must 表肯定推测(”一定是;准是”)
- 用法:表示有根据的肯定推测,把握很大(90%以上)
- 结构:
must + 动词原形(对现在/将来的推测);must have done(对过去的推测)
例句:
- He must be at home now, for the light is on.(他现在一定在家,因为灯亮着。)
- ★高考核心:She must have finished her homework, for she is watching TV now.(她一定已经完成了作业,因为她现在正在看电视。)
(2)can't / couldn't 表否定推测(”不可能”)
- 用法:表示有根据的否定推测
- 结构:
can't + 动词原形(现在/将来);can't have done(过去)
例句:
- He can't be serious. Nobody would believe such a story.(他不可能是认真的。)
- ★高考核心:They can't have arrived yet — the plane hasn't landed.(他们不可能已经到了——飞机还没降落。)
(3)may / might / could 表可能性推测(”可能;也许”)

阅读材料一:The Spring Festival — More Than Just a Holiday¶
The Spring Festival, commonly known as Chinese New Year, is the most important traditional festival in China. It marks the beginning of the lunar new year and is a time for family reunions. But beyond the red decorations, the fireworks, and the delicious food, the Spring Festival carries a much deeper cultural significance.
The origins of the Spring Festival date back thousands of years. According to legend, a fearsome monster called "Nian" would terrorize villages at the end of each year. The people eventually discovered that Nian was afraid of three things: the color red, loud noises, and bright lights. This is why red decorations, firecrackers, and lanterns have become essential elements of the celebration.
Today, the Spring Festival is celebrated in various ways across China. In the north, families gather to make dumplings together on New Year's Eve, while in the south, people often eat rice cakes and sweet dumplings. Despite these regional differences, the core values remain the same: gratitude for the past year, hope for the coming year, and the importance of family bonds.
Interestingly, the Spring Festival has crossed cultural boundaries and is now celebrated in many countries around the world. Cities like London, New York, and Sydney host grand celebrations featuring dragon dances, lantern festivals, and cultural performances. This global recognition reflects the growing influence of Chinese culture and the universal appeal of family togetherness.
However, some people worry that the festival is becoming overly commercialized. They argue that the focus has shifted from family gatherings to buying expensive gifts and giving large red envelopes. While it is true that modern celebrations involve more spending, the fundamental spirit of the Spring Festival — love, gratitude, and family — continues to endure in the hearts of Chinese people everywhere.

阅读材料二:The Trolley Problem — A Moral Dilemma¶
One of the most famous moral dilemmas in philosophy is the "Trolley Problem." Imagine you are standing next to a train track, and you see a runaway trolley heading toward five people who are tied to the track. You have access to a lever that can divert the trolley to a side track. However, there is one person tied to that side track. What should you do?
This scenario, first introduced by philosopher Philippa Foot in 1967, has sparked decades of debate. Those who believe in utilitarianism—the idea that the right action is the one that produces the greatest good for the greatest number—argue that you should pull the lever. After all, saving five lives is better than saving one.
However, opponents of this view argue that actively pulling the lever makes you responsible for the death of the one person on the side track. If you do nothing, the five deaths are the result of an unfortunate accident. But if you pull the lever, you have actively chosen to end one person's life. This perspective emphasizes the distinction between "doing harm" and "allowing harm to happen."
The Trolley Problem may seem like a purely theoretical exercise, but it has real-world applications. It is relevant to the programming of self-driving cars, which must be designed to make split-second decisions in emergency situations. Should a self-driving car swerve to avoid hitting five pedestrians if doing so would mean hitting one pedestrian on the sidewalk?
What the Trolley Problem ultimately teaches us is that moral choices are rarely simple. Even when we think we know what the "right" answer is, the consequences of our actions can be complex and far-reaching. The best we can do is to approach moral dilemmas with careful thought, empathy, and a willingness to consider multiple perspectives.

阅读材料三:The Golden Gate to Diversity¶
San Francisco, a city perched on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, is often described as one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. With a population that speaks more than 35 languages, the city is a living museum of human cultures, each contributing its own unique colors to the urban canvas.
The diversity of San Francisco can be traced back to the mid-1800s, when the Gold Rush attracted fortune seekers from around the globe. Chinese immigrants arrived to build railroads and work in mines. Italians came to fish and farm. Mexicans, Japanese, Filipinos, and many others followed, each bringing their customs, cuisine, and traditions. Over time, these communities settled in distinct neighborhoods, creating a mosaic of cultural enclaves.
Chinatown, the largest Chinese community outside Asia, is perhaps the most famous of these neighborhoods. Walking through its crowded streets, visitors are surrounded by Chinese architecture, herbal medicine shops, and restaurants serving authentic dim sum. Yet Chinatown is not merely a tourist attraction—it is a living community where generations of Chinese Americans have preserved their heritage while contributing to the broader American society.
The Mission District, on the other hand, is the heart of San Francisco's Latino community. Its walls are covered with colorful murals that tell stories of struggle, hope, and cultural pride. The smell of fresh tortillas fills the air, and the sound of mariachi music drifts from open windows. Here, Mexican and Central American traditions thrive alongside American life.
What makes San Francisco truly remarkable is not just that these diverse communities exist side by side, but that they continually influence and enrich one another. Fusion restaurants combine Chinese and Mexican cuisines. Art galleries feature works that blend Eastern and Western styles. Young people growing up in this environment naturally develop a global perspective, seeing diversity not as a challenge but as a strength.
However, maintaining this diversity has not been without challenges. Rising housing costs have forced many long-time residents out of their neighborhoods. Some fear that the unique cultural character of these communities may fade. Yet, the spirit of diversity remains strong, fueled by new waves of immigrants who arrive every year, adding new threads to the city's ever-evolving cultural fabric.

阅读材料四:Reaching for the Stars — The Future of Space Exploration¶
When Neil Armstrong set foot on the Moon in 1969 and declared, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," few could have imagined what the next five decades of space exploration would bring. Today, space agencies around the world are setting their sights on even more ambitious goals: establishing permanent bases on the Moon, sending humans to Mars, and searching for signs of life beyond our solar system.
China has emerged as a major player in space exploration. In recent years, the country has successfully landed a rover on the far side of the Moon—the first nation ever to do so—launched its own space station, and sent a probe to Mars. These achievements reflect China's determination to become a leading force in space science and technology.
One of the most exciting developments in space exploration is the involvement of private companies. Companies like SpaceX have dramatically reduced the cost of space travel by developing reusable rockets. This has opened up new possibilities for commercial space flight, satellite deployment, and even space tourism. Some visionaries talk about colonizing Mars within the next few decades, turning science fiction into reality.
However, space exploration is not without its critics. Some argue that the enormous sums of money spent on space missions could be better used to solve problems on Earth, such as poverty, disease, and climate change. They question whether the benefits of exploring Mars or distant planets justify the costs, especially when there are so many pressing needs at home.
Supporters of space exploration counter this argument by pointing out that space technology benefits life on Earth in countless ways. Satellite monitoring helps track deforestation, predict natural disasters, and manage agricultural resources. Medical research conducted in microgravity has led to breakthroughs in understanding human health. Moreover, the inspiration that space exploration provides to young people—encouraging them to study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—has immeasurable long-term value.
Perhaps the most profound argument for space exploration is philosophical. As Carl Sagan once said, "Exploration is in our nature. We began as wanderers, and we are wanderers still." The desire to understand our place in the universe—to know whether we are alone, to comprehend the origins of existence—may be the most fundamentally human drive of all. In reaching for the stars, we are ultimately reaching for a deeper understanding of ourselves.

阅读材料五:Can Money Buy Happiness?¶
The relationship between money and happiness has puzzled philosophers, economists, and ordinary people for centuries. "Money can't buy happiness," the old saying goes, yet most of us spend a significant portion of our lives trying to earn more of it. So what is the truth about wealth and well-being?
Research suggests that the answer is more nuanced than the popular saying implies. A landmark study conducted by Princeton University in 2010 found that people's emotional well-being does increase with income, but only up to a certain point. Once a person's annual income reaches approximately $75,000, additional money does not significantly increase daily happiness.
This finding makes sense when we consider what money can and cannot do. Money can provide security—adequate food, safe housing, quality healthcare, and access to education. However, once basic needs are met, the relationship between money and happiness becomes weaker. People who pursue wealth for its own sake often find themselves on a "hedonic treadmill"—constantly wanting more but never feeling satisfied.
Interestingly, research also shows that how we spend money matters more than how much we have. People who spend money on experiences—travel, concerts, dinners with friends—report greater happiness than those who spend on material goods. Furthermore, spending money on others, known as "prosocial spending," has been shown to increase happiness more than spending on oneself. This finding echoes the wisdom found in many cultural traditions: generosity brings more joy than accumulation.
Perhaps the most important insight is that happiness depends less on what we have and more on who we are. Money can open doors, but it is our character, our relationships, and our sense of purpose that determine whether we walk through those doors with genuine joy.

范文1:节日文化对比(议论文)¶
题目:中秋节的庆祝方式在中西方有所不同,请就此写一篇短文,比较中西方庆祝中秋节的差异。
It is widely acknowledged that the Mid-Autumn Festival, one of the most significant traditional Chinese festivals, represents family reunion and gratitude. However, with increasing cultural exchange, this festival is now celebrated in various ways around the world.
In China, families gather together on this special night to admire the full moon, share delicious mooncakes, and express their love and gratitude for one another. The roundness of both the moon and the mooncakes symbolizes completeness and unity. What makes the festival truly meaningful is not the food itself, but the precious moments shared with loved ones.
Interestingly, in some Western countries with large Chinese communities, the Mid-Autumn Festival has developed a new character. While preserving traditional activities like lantern-making and mooncake-sharing, these celebrations often include multicultural elements such as music performances, art exhibitions, and community fairs. It is this combination of tradition and innovation that makes the festival increasingly popular worldwide.
In conclusion, although the ways of celebrating may differ, the core value of the Mid-Autumn Festival—family love and gratitude—remains universal. Only by embracing both tradition and diversity can we truly appreciate the charm of this ancient festival.

题目:请以”An Unforgettable Choice”为题,写一篇记叙文。
An Unforgettable Choice
Every person encounters moments in life when they must make a difficult choice between what is easy and what is right. For me, such a moment came on a cold winter evening last year.
Walking home from school, I noticed a wallet lying on the sidewalk. Having seen no one around, I could have easily kept it. However, deep inside, I knew that keeping what did not belong to me was wrong. Remembering what my parents had taught me about honesty, I decided to take the wallet to the nearest police station. The officers managed to contact the owner—a young woman who had been frantic with worry. She explained that the money was for her mother’s medical treatment. At that moment, I realized that my small act of honesty had made a tremendous difference.
Looking back, I am grateful for the choice I made that day. It taught me that having the courage to do the right thing, even when it is difficult, is what defines who we are. After all, true wealth lies not in what we possess, but in the integrity of our character.

范文4:太空探索的意义(议论文)¶
题目:有人认为太空探索浪费金钱,有人认为太空探索意义重大。请就此写一篇议论文。
Is Space Exploration Worth the Cost?
There has been an ongoing debate about whether space exploration is worth the enormous costs involved. While some argue that the money could be better spent on Earth’s problems, I firmly believe that space exploration is an investment in humanity’s future.
First and foremost, space exploration has led to countless technological advances that benefit our daily lives. Satellite technology, originally developed for space missions, now enables us to predict weather, communicate globally, and navigate with precision. It is these spin-off technologies that demonstrate the practical value of space research.
Furthermore, exploring space inspires young people to pursue careers in science and engineering. What could be more motivating for a student than the dream of one day walking on Mars? This inspiration drives innovation and progress that ultimately benefit society as a whole.
Admittedly, the costs of space exploration are significant. However, considering the long-term benefits—technological innovation, scientific discovery, and the possibility of finding new resources—the investment is well justified.
In conclusion, space exploration is not a luxury we cannot afford, but a necessity we cannot ignore. Only by continuing to push the boundaries of human knowledge can we ensure a better future for generations to come.

范文5:金钱与幸福的辩证关系(议论文)¶
题目:金钱能买到幸福吗?请写一篇议论文。
Can Money Buy Happiness?
The relationship between money and happiness has long been a subject of debate. While some believe that wealth is the key to a happy life, others insist that money has nothing to do with genuine happiness. In my view, the truth lies somewhere in between.
It would be naive to deny that money plays an important role in our well-being. Having sufficient financial resources provides security, eliminates the stress of poverty, and gives us access to education and healthcare. For those struggling to meet basic needs, additional income undoubtedly improves their quality of life.
However, what we must recognize is that beyond a certain point, more money does not necessarily mean more happiness. Studies have consistently shown that people who pursue wealth for its own sake often end up feeling empty and unsatisfied. It is the quality of our relationships, not the quantity of our possessions, that ultimately determines our sense of fulfillment.
Moreover, how we use money matters far more than how much we have. Spending money on experiences rather than material goods, and sharing our resources with others, has been proven to bring greater and more lasting joy.
In conclusion, money is a tool, not an end. It can open doors, but it is our character, our relationships, and our sense of purpose that determine whether we walk through those doors with genuine happiness. True wealth, after all, is measured not by what we have, but by who we are.
高分句型标注:

题目:假设你是学生会主席,在学校举办的”中外文化节”开幕式上发表演讲。
Good morning, teachers and fellow students,
It is my great honor to stand here today at the opening ceremony of our school’s International Cultural Festival. Today, we celebrate not just one culture, but the beautiful diversity of cultures that enriches our world.
Why do we celebrate festivals? The answer is simple: festivals bring us together. Whether it is the Spring Festival, Christmas, Diwali, or Ramadan, every festival shares the same universal values—love, gratitude, and hope. What makes our International Cultural Festival so special is that it gives us the opportunity to experience these values through the lens of different cultures.
Through the activities of this festival—food tasting, music performances, art exhibitions, and cultural workshops—we will not only learn about other cultures but also gain a deeper appreciation of our own. It is by understanding others that we truly begin to understand ourselves.
I encourage each of you to participate actively, to try new things, and to approach every experience with an open mind and an open heart. Remember that diversity is not a source of division, but a strength that makes our community more vibrant and dynamic.
Let us celebrate our differences while cherishing our common humanity. Together, we can build a more inclusive and harmonious world.
Thank you, and enjoy the festival!

范文7:美德故事读后感(议论文)¶
题目:读完林巧稚医生的故事后,请写一篇短文,谈谈你的感悟。
The Power of Selfless Devotion
After reading the story of Dr. Lin Qiaozhi, I was deeply moved by her extraordinary life of selfless devotion. Known as the “mother of ten thousand babies,” Dr. Lin chose a path that few would have the courage to follow, and in doing so, she left a legacy that continues to inspire.
What struck me most was the difficult choice she faced as a young woman. In an era when women were expected to marry and raise families, she chose to devote herself to medicine instead. It was her deep sense of responsibility toward her patients that gave her the strength to overcome every obstacle. She rejected prestigious offers and comfortable positions, choosing instead to serve the poor and the needy.
Her story teaches us that true greatness lies not in personal achievement, but in what we give to others. While many people spend their lives pursuing wealth and fame, Dr. Lin found meaning and fulfillment in serving others. The fact that she never married or had children of her own only makes her devotion more remarkable—she gave her motherly love to thousands of babies and their mothers.
As high school students, we can learn from her example by putting others before ourselves, by being determined in the face of difficulties, and by dedicating ourselves to a cause greater than our own self-interest. In a world that often values material success above all else, Dr. Lin’s story reminds us that the most meaningful life is one lived in service to others.

范文8:太空探索与中国贡献(议论文)¶
题目:中国载人航天工程取得巨大成就,请写一篇短文介绍中国太空探索的成就。
China’s Remarkable Journey into Space
China’s space program has come a long way since its humble beginnings, evolving into one of the world’s leading space exploration programs. From launching its first satellite in 1970 to building its own space station, China has demonstrated remarkable determination and capability.
What makes China’s achievements particularly impressive is the speed of its progress. In just a few decades, China has become one of the few countries capable of independent manned spaceflight. The successful landing of the Chang’e probes on the Moon, the Tianwen-1 mission to Mars, and the construction of the Tiangong space station—all these accomplishments represent enormous leaps forward.
It is worth noting that China’s space program is not just about national pride. The technologies developed through space exploration have practical applications that benefit millions of people. Satellite navigation, weather forecasting, disaster monitoring, and agricultural management all rely on space technology. Furthermore, China has expressed its willingness to cooperate with other nations, sharing data and opening its space station to international experiments.
However, some people question whether the enormous investment in space exploration is justified. I believe it is. Space exploration pushes the boundaries of human knowledge, inspires the next generation of scientists and engineers, and contributes to technological progress that benefits society as a whole.
As a Chinese student, I feel proud of my country’s achievements in space. Looking to the future, I am confident that China will continue to make significant contributions to humanity’s exploration of the universe. After all, the stars belong to all of us, and it is together that we should reach for them.
